How to reach Leeds
Leeds is located at the geographic centre of the UK and is well connected by air, rail and road.
Travelling by PlaneVisitors can fly direct to Leeds Bradford Airport on scheduled flights from over 70 destinations across 25 countries and 8 UK destinations. Frequent scheduled services run between Leeds Bradford Airport and the main airports of London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Dublin and Barcelona, enabling worldwide connections. Leeds Bradford airport is just a 30 minute bus ride away from our campus. There are also regular direct trains from Manchester Airport to Leeds, the average journey time is around 1 hour 30minutes. Travelling by RailPlease note that there is a Rail Strike planned on Saturday 6th April which will affect train services in the North of England. This may be significant only for those turning up early. A second rail strike on Monday 8th April affects some companies, mostly in South of England (including Southern/Gatwick Express). Leeds Station makes Leeds one of the best connected cities in the UK. It connects us with major cities across the UK, with services often being direct to Leeds. LNER offers a fast and direct train from London Kings Cross and Glasgow, while most northern cities such as Manchester and Liverpool offer direct trains with Transpennine Express or CrossCountry. Travelling by CarLeeds is well connected by road and is easily accessible from the M62, M1, and A1(M). These major roads run from North to South and East to West, creating an easily accessible city from all directions. The University can accommodate staff delegate parking in the University’s multi-storey carpark on site, located next to the Exhibition Centre. There are also large multi-storey carparks located less than a 10 minute walk from campus. Travelling within LeedsThe University of Leeds campus is just a 15 minute walk from the city centre and train station, making it easily accessible around the city by foot. There are also a variety of bus services which run from the University campus into the city centre. |
